Tuesday was not a good night for the Tigers, who lost 12-1 to the Indians — the 11th loss in a row to Cleveland this season.
Miguel Cabrera — named an All-Star reserve earlier in the evening — was ejected by first base umpire Tim Timmons in the top of the sixth inning for arguing with home plate umpire Jordan Baker, who ruled that a ball that replay showed hit off Cabrera’s shin was fair, and Cabrera was thrown out at first.
Victor Martinez knocked in the only run for the Tigers (44-40).
Aníbal Sanchez started for the Tigers, going 4 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs on five hits while striking out six and walking four.
