Tigers right-hander Anibal Sanchez has a season-high 11 strikeouts.
It’s 1-1 between the Tigers and White Sox at Comerica Park.
White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu led off the top of the sixth with a single. From there, Sanchez struck out the side to reach his highest strikeout total in a game since May 24, 2015 vs. Houston.
White Sox right fielder Avisail Garcia went down looking for the first out. From there, Chicago left fielder Nicky Delmonico swung and missed at strike three — but in the process, Abreu stole second base.
Sanchez, however, buckled down and struck out White Sox designated hitter Matt Davidson to end the inning.
