Live Tigers blog: Bottom 6th: Cabrera homers

The Tigers got two more runs in the sixth, on Matt Albers — who came on to replace James Shields to start the bottom of the sixth for the White Sox. Albers got Jose Iglesias (first base) and Ian Kinsler (second base) to ground out before walking Cameron Maybin. Miguel Cabrera then hit a two-run shot — his 24th home run of the season — over the wall in right field, extending the lead for the Tigers.

Shields went five innings, allowing six runs on nine hits while striking out one and walking two. After six, the Tigers are ahead 8-1.
