Live Tigers blog: Bottom 1st: Kinsler steals twice

The story of the bottom of the first inning was Ian Kinsler. He sent a 3-2 pitch from Syndergaard into center field for a leadoff single. Two batters later, with Miguel Cabrera up, Kinsler took second on a called strike. He then stole third on a ball low and away, and scored on an RBI ground out from Cabrera. After one, the Tigers lead 1-0.

Top 1st: JV sets Mets down 1-2-3

Tigers starter Justin Verlander faced a trio of left-handed batting Mets in the top of the first inning. Former Tiger Curtis Granderson flew to left field, before before Alejandro De Aza flew out to center field and Neil Walker grounded out to Verlander to end the half inning.
