Yolmer Sanchez drove in the game-winning run for the White Sox in the bottom of the ninth, giving Joe Jimenez the loss.
Justin Verlander had his good stuff working, but didn’t get a decision. He went seven full innings, escaping a couple of jams along the way, allowing two earned runs on six hits. He also struck out eight White Sox (51-76) batters.
Miguel Gonzalez also had a strong start for the White Sox.
