Tyler Collins stepped up to the dish with the bases loaded and delivered for the Tigers with an RBI single to left-center to cut the Minnesota lead to 3-1.
Nick Castellanos led off the fourth inning with a shot to left-center that fell just short of a home run. After settling for a double, Castellanos moved up to third on a Miguel Cabrera fly out to right field. Victor Martinez took a ball off the foot to put runners on the corners, and Justin Upton followed by drawing a walk to load the bases for Collins.
