Live blog: Tigers fall to Tribe in pitcher's duel

FINAL: INDIANS 3, TIGERS 2

Matt Boyd put together a quality start for the Tigers, but the bats just weren't able to do enough against Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco as the Indians escaped the third game of this series with a 3-2 win.

Boyd's undoing was a three-run fourth inning where he gave up three hits to the Tribe. He pitched 7.2 innings, becoming the first Tigers pitcher to pitch into the eighth frame this season. Boyd gave up three runs on five hits, walked three and struck out four.

Carrasco pitched six innings, giving up five hits while walking just one and striking out five.
