Myles Jaye struggled with his command a bit to start the second, walking Carlos Santana on five pitches and then allowing a single to left off the bat of Yandy Diaz. Yan Gomes then singled to center, scoring Santana from second. Greg Allen bunted to third and Jaye couldn't handle it cleanly as all runners would be safe.
With the bases loaded and no outs, Francisco Lindor tripled into the right-center field gap, clearing the bases. Lonnie Chisenhall finally accounted for the first out on a hard grounder to Dixon Machado at short who held the runner at third and fired to first.
