Live blog: Fulmer pitches gem, Tigers down Angels 7-1

The Tigers’ bats were hot early and the offense from the first two innings was enough to lead them past the Angels 7-1 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

Justin Upton had the hit of the game, knocking a three-run homer over the center field wall in the first inning. The next inning, Andrew Romine tacked on a couple of runs with a two-run home run. The Tigers (17-16) led 5-0 early.

However, it was the Tigers’ defense that stole the show in the middle innings. The offense slowed down considerably after the second inning while Jose Iglesias and Ian Kinsler, besides a harmless error in the ninth, made a number of highlight plays.
