New Britain Rock Cats 9, Erie SeaWolves 4 (box)
After dropping a pair to Reading, Erie (40-60) looked to Tommy Collier (3-1, 3.23 ERA) to face the Rock Cats (60-42) on the road. New Britain made it clear that Collier would have to work for it, tagging him for eight earned runs off 11 hits through five innings of work. The SeaWolves were alive at the plate themselves, driving 10 hits, including solo homers from Wade Gaynor and the usual suspect, Dean Green, who drove in his 13th of the season.
