LA Angels shut out Detroit Tigers, 5-0 ... and don't blame the ump

The Tigers’ offensive woes on Sunday couldn’t be blamed on the home plate umpire.

The Tigers lost, 5-0, on Sunday afternoon at Comerica Park and dropped two of three games in the series to the Angels. The Tigers were shut out for the ninth time this season.

Angels lefty Tyler Skaggs struck out six Tigers over six scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and two walks.

The Tigers lost 3-2 on Saturday night and were upset with the way home plate umpire Mike Everitt was calling balls and strikes. Everitt ejected Victor Martinez, J.D. Martinez, hitting coach Wally Joyner and manager Brad Ausmus on Saturday night.
