ANAHEIM, Calif. – Whatever was left of Anibal Sanchez’s confidence, it went over the wall on Tuesday night.
First, C.J. Cron cracked it. Then, Mike Trout. Then, Jefry Marte.
Now, after another abysmal outing, the Detroit Tigers’ veteran right-hander could be in danger of losing his rotation spot.
Sanchez was tagged for six runs on eight hits in just three innings, allowing three home runs, and his teammates closed the gap with a seven-run comeback, but still, the Tigers fell to the Angels, 11-9, at their house of horrors, when Cron hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning off reliever Mark Lowe.
