Scores, news, and notes from the Detroit Tigers’ farm system on Sunday, July 17, 2016.
Steven Moya drilled an RBI triple to deep center field in the first inning to give the Mud Hens the lead, but Columbus’ offense proved too much for Thad Weber and the Toledo pitching staff. The Clippers scored six runs off Weber and eight runs overall, tallying 16 hits on the afternoon. Meanwhile, Toledo could only manage two more runs after a two-run first, and finished with eight hits. Casey McGehee and John Hicks both had multi-hit games, and Dixon Machado reached base three times.
