DETROIT -- The Tigers' clubhouse at Comerica Park was a mix of packing and preparation Sunday morning before their final home game. Players were getting ready for a matinee against the Twins while sorting through lockers and finalizing plans to move stuff from Michigan back home. Amid the traffic sat Ian Kinsler at his locker, talking with general manager Al Avila.
When the Tigers open their season-ending road trip Tuesday night at Kansas City, Kinsler will need just two plate appearances to reach 600 for the season, which will vest his contract option for next year at $11 million.
