DETROIT -- Justin Verlander tossed another strong outing Wednesday, marking his third such performance since his Tweet in early May declaring he would soon dominate again.
So what changed?
Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus revealed after his team's 6-3 series-sweeping win over the Minnesota Twins that Verlander has been working with pitching coach Rich Dubee on adjusting the arm slot on his delivery.
"I think that helped in terms of the fastball getting on hitters," Ausmus said. "It's tough to see from the side, so I don't know if he's hiding it better from the hitters or it's just getting better life out of his hand.
