DETROIT -- After finishing off his 98th victory at Comerica Park, Justin Verlander held court at his corner locker just as he had so many times before.
Only this time he was down the hallway from the Detroit Tigers clubhouse, in the more cramped visitors' accommodations. And few of the questions had anything to do with his performance for his new team, the Houston Astros.
Instead, the focus was on Verlander's return to Detroit for the first time since the stunning, last-minute trade to Houston on Aug. 31, 2017. The Astros, of course, won the World Series.
