Justin Upton returned in a big way after missing the previous three games with right side soreness.
Upton went 3-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs and a run scored. He broke a 3-3 tie with a two-out two-run single in the seventh as the Detroit Tigers went on to beat the San Francisco Giants, 5-3, today at Comerica Park.
The Giants had tied the game in the top of the seventh on a two-run home run by Brandon Crawford, the second home run of the game allowed by right-handed pitcher Michael Fulmer.
