Jordan Zimmermann says pitch was unintentional; Indians not buying it

DETROIT -- It wouldn't be a Tigers-Indians series without some intrigue, and Saturday's nightcap of the doubleheader provided it.

A brief summary: Carlos Carrasco hit Jose Iglesias in the fourth; Jordan Zimmermann hit Carlos Santana in the fifth; Santana grumbled as he took first base; both teams meandered out of the dugouts, stared at each and then went back; umpires warned both teams; and then nothing further happened the rest of the way.

"It was over right after it happened," said Tigers manager Brad Ausmus. "We see 'em 19 times a year. That stuff can happen."

Iglesias was in pain after being hit by Carrasco's 92 mph pitch on his left elbow; he remained in the game after being visited by an athletic trainer.
