The Hens earned a series victory by hammering the Red Wings early and keeping the pressure on all afternoon. Jeimer Candelario got them off on the right foot with a three-run shot in the first inning. Matt Hall gave them 2 2⁄3 decent innings, and then the bullpen took over to shush the Red Wings the rest of the way. Pete Kozma and Candelario picked up RBI hits in the fifth to extend the lead, and the Hens added on two more runs later to pull away for good.
