The song begins in early 1964, when Jeff Daniels was nine years old and ready for more.
It was around that time when Daniels felt his love for Al Kaline taking hold.
Daniels, the accomplished actor and musician who grew up in Chelsea, penned a tribute song for Kaline on April 6, the day he died at 85 years old. Kaline was the Detroit Tigers' all-time franchise player, spending more than 60 years with the organization as a Hall of Fame player, broadcaster, front office figure and team ambassador.
Daniels shared the song with WDIV-TV, and it was played on Sunday morning's 'Flashpoint' show with anchor Devin Scillian.
