OAKLAND, Calif. -- J.D. Martinez got two hits, including a double, in the first game of his rehab assignment with the Lakeland Flying Tigers on Friday.
But the bigger test will come Saturday, when the Tigers hope Martinez will be able to play at least half the game in right field. He was the designated hitter in Lakeland's 4-2 loss at Palm Beach Friday night.

Kinsler feels he is close to a return, although manager Brad Ausmus left open the possibility that he could miss the entire series in Oakland.
