JaCoby Jones' homer backs Michael Fulmer's strong start in Tigers victory

Detroit — They made it look easy.

The Tigers beat the Twins, 3-1, Thursday at Comerica Park, with an old-fashioned baseball combination.

Michael Fulmer started for the Tigers and threw seven glittering innings of quality baseball, while JaCoby Jones, who had been in steady descent this month, reversed his big-league life when he tore into a Lance Lynn fastball in the seventh and launched it into the bullpen in left-center for a two-run homer that broke up a 1-1 tie.

The Tigers had tied the game earlier in the seventh when John Hicks led off with his first big-league triple on a drive up the right-center field gap.
