Detroit Tigers catcher John Hicks let the cat out of the bag: JaCoby Jones is using his bat.
With Jones riding a career-long 12-game hit streak entering Friday’s series opener against the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park, Hicks said Jones borrowed a bat from him on their recent nine-game road trip.
“He should be thanking his lucky stars that I gave him my bat,” Hicks said before the game Friday, just loud enough so Jones could hear him. “That’s why he’s on a hitting streak. It’s all because of me. It’s my bat.
