DETROIT -- John Hicks tripled and JaCoby Jones homered in a three-run seventh inning as the Detroit Tigers beat the Minnesota Twins 3-1 Thursday afternoon at Comerica Park.
Tigers starter Michael Fulmer allowed a run on two hits in the first inning, but then dominated the final six innings he pitched.
Twins starter Lance Lynn went the opposite direction, baffling Tigers hitters for six innings before falling apart in the seventh.
Hicks led off the inning with a stand-up triple and scored on Niko Goodrum's sacrifice fly. Two batters later, Jones crushed a two-run homer to left-center.
