Jack Morris' Hall of Fame induction speech: 'Detroit years taught me what winning was about'

After a long journey to the Hall of Fame, Jack Morris thanked even the sportswriters who voted against his candidacy during his emotional speech on Sunday.

Morris was one of six players inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., this weekend.

"With age comes more aches and pains, gray hair, if you're lucky, but also wisdom and perspective," said Morris, who spent parts of 14 seasons with the Detroit Tigers.

His complete speech, courtesy of the Hall of Fame, is reprinted below.

Hello Cooperstown! I am humbled and honored to be with all of you today.
