SAN DIEGO – The Detroit Tigers’ win on Sunday was nothing more than a temporary stay of execution.
The 7-5 win over the Padres snapped an eight-game losing streak. But it didn’t change the fact that the Tigers too often are playing poorly.
They certainly showed some fight, coming back from deficits of 3-0 and 5-3. But the only thing celebratory after the win at Petco Park was the music that played in the visiting clubhouse.
Miguel Cabrera didn’t crack a smile when talking about the win and said the Tigers can’t be relaxed when they’re close to last place in their division.
