CHICAGO -- Detroit Tigers prospects Beau Burrows and Matt Manning will fly to Chicago this week for an end-of-season visit with the organization's Major League staff.
Burrows and Manning will throw a bullpen session for Tigers pitching coach Rick Anderson and roving minor-league instructor A.J. Sager on Wednesday. They'll also visit with manager Ron Gardenhire and other coaches and players.
The two players won't be among those getting a promotion to the big leagues this month, but the trip is an indication that the organization doesn't think they're far away.
"We want to be able to see them and start developing a relationship as they're getting closer (to the big leagues)," said Tigers vice president of player development Dave Littlefield.
