Detroit Tigers third baseman Isaac Paredes has only been on the big-league roster for five days.
And he is only 21 years old.
But the Tigers called him up Monday to leave his mark with a power bat, and he did just that in the fourth inning Friday against the Cleveland Indians.
Paredes launched a 386-foot grand slam to left field for his first MLB home run to give the Tigers a 7-5 lead. His big hit came on a 91.5 mph fastball from right-handed starter Adam Plutko.
In his MLB debut Monday against the Chicago White Sox, Paredes earned his first hit in the majors on a two-RBI single.
