The Detroit Tigers didn’t collect their first hit until the fifth inning, and the offense didn’t show much more life after that as the Tigers dropped their third game in a row, this one a 4-2 defeat at the hands of the Cleveland Indians on Saturday evening at Comerica Park.
The game started well enough for the Tigers. Lefthander Gregory Soto, recently recalled from Triple-A Toledo, was effectively wild. He walked four batters in four innings, but also avoided the nightmare innings that have plagued him the second time through the order. He was able to dance out of trouble time and again, eventually recording four scoreless innings.
