In Kyle Funkhouser, Detroit Tigers may have found pitching weapon from an unlikely source

Miguel Cabrera put his arm around Detroit Tigers reliever Kyle Funkhouser and walked the length of the dugout.

"Really good job, man," said Cabrera, a future Hall of Famer and the veteran leader of a youth movement within the organization. "Way to attack. You've been good for us. Keep up the good work."

Funkhouser — a premier starter in college at Louisville — made his first MLB start in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Chicago White Sox at Comerica Park. The Tigers went with a bullpen-only game, after using five pitchers and two position players in Saturday's 15-2 loss.
