Detroit Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire had his frustrations boil over in Friday night’s 6-3 loss to the visiting Minnesota Twins.
With his team trying to break out of a tough stretch at Comerica Park — the Tigers (23-37) have now lost 13 of their last 14 home games — Gardenhire’s evening was a quick one.
In the third inning, the skipper was ejected for arguing a balk call on starting pitcher Matthew Boyd. Gardenhire had a heated discussion with home plate umpire James Hoye before being tossed.
It was his 81st career ejection and fourth this season.
