Detroit — The Tigers will, for the fourth time since 2021, purchase the contract of veteran right-hander Drew Hutchison. He will start in the finale Wednesday and likely stay in the rotation at least through the All-Star break.
"It's a good opportunity for me," the 31-year-old Hutchison said. "It was the quickest opportunity to the big leagues. The Tigers were very upfront with me and our communication has been very good and honest. That's all you can ask for as a player."
