CHICAGO – The Detroit Tigers hadn’t been home for months.
For many, it was spring training in Florida to the regular season in Chicago. For others, like those who participated in the World Baseball Classic, it was Florida to the WBC and back. For Ian Kinsler, it’s been living out of a suitcase for nearly a month.
But after playing through a soggy and windy opening series against the White Sox, the Tigers, as a whole, wanted to get home. And they played like it on Thursday afternoon.
In what likely will loom as one of their most poorly executed games all season, they were beat by the White Sox, 11-2, and Guaranteed Rate Field.
