Everything was up in the air for the Mokma brothers last summer, even though one was on the ground and the other was in a plane.
Chris Mokma, a Holland Christian senior pitcher and Michigan State baseball recruit, was taken in the 12th round of the 2019 MLB draft by the Miami Marlins. He didn’t have a contract but he was flying to Miami with his parents, Scott and Jennifer, hoping a deal would get done.
And Mike Mokma, an MSU pitcher, was recovering from elbow surgery, which frightened off several teams and he didn’t get drafted.
