Last summer, Michael Fulmer didn’t have many people to talk to.
He was back home in Oklahoma rehabilitating from Tommy John surgery with his wife, Kelsey, and their newborn son, Miles, a happy baby with an ear-piercing squeal and more pitching knowledge than most 9-month-olds.
“I haven’t had it in a year,” Fulmer said on Thursday afternoon, scanning the Detroit Tigers’ clubhouse at Comerica Park, excited for the chance to talk shop once again. “I’ve been sitting there talking to a 3-month-old over the summer about pitch grips and watching the Tigers play.
