In his darkest moments, when Daniel Norris was afraid that he might never pitch again, he received support and encouragement from an old, trusted friend.
The guy who used to have the locker next to him in the Detroit Tigers' clubhouse.
Somebody who went through the same thing.
Justin Verlander.
“He’s a good human,” Norris said. “That’s first and foremost. He’s an amazing friend.”
Verlander, who now pitches for the Houston Astros, helped Norris get through his struggles from afar while he was recovering from core surgery.
