DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers hit two dramatic late-inning home runs to beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-5 Wednesday afternoon at Comerica Park.
Backup catcher John Hicks roped a three-run home run in the eighth inning to give the Tigers a 5-4 lead.
After the Tigers lost the lead moments later, Dixon Machado led off the ninth by hitting the second pitch he saw from Orioles reliever Pedro Araujo into the bullpen for the first walk-off of his career.
The Tigers (6-9) will go for the series sweep on Thursday afternoon if the weather cooperates. Wednesday's game had originally been scheduled for the evening but was moved up to avoid expected snow.
