Detroit -- Alan Trammell's No. 3 took up permanent residency on the outfield brick wall at Comerica Park on Sunday afternoon, wrapping up a summer-long celebration of the 1984 World Series-champion Tigers.
"My hope is that when fans come to Comerica Park and see No. 3 out there on the brick wall, the story that will be told will be of somebody who played the game the right way," Trammell said. "It was my pleasure to have worn the Old English D my entire playing career."
Two weeks after Jack Morris' No. 47 was retired, Trammell got his day in the sun.
