Hapless Tigers drop fourth straight, lose 6-3 to Pirates

Pittsburgh — Dead team walking.

This is how it generally goes with losing streaks: You get a good pitching performance like the Tigers did Saturday (Drew VerHagen) and Monday (Jordan Zimmermann) but the offense misfires.

Or, your starting pitcher gets blown out of the park, like Anibal Sanchez did in Baltimore Sunday and like Matthew Boyd did here on Tuesday in a 6-3 loss the Pirates.

The Tigers have now lost four straight, nullifying last week’s four-game winning streak. They are 10 games under .500 again. They were once 4-1 on this road trip, but they limp home 4-5.
