Groin issues persisting, Norris goes on DL

DETROIT -- The Tigers are going to try to get to the root of Daniel Norris' long-running groin injury. That means Norris is going to miss some time.

Thus, the Tigers placed their young left-hander on the 10-day disabled list on Monday, a day after he left his start in Baltimore in the third inning with what was classified as left groin tightness.

It marks the fourth consecutive year that Norris has gone on the DL since the Tigers acquired him in 2015. But as frustrating as the injury bug has proven to be for Norris, and as much as he tried to avoid the DL with his latest injury, it was time.
