CHICAGO — The sun never came out this weekend.
It tried sometime Saturday afternoon, a faint shaft of light hitting the left field seats at Guaranteed Rate Field. But for the majority of another awful weather weekend in the Windy City, with the Detroit Tigers playing out the string on another last-place finish, it was nowhere to be seen.
But this last-place AL Central finish — the Tigers’ third in the past five years — was not just any last-place finish.
