Gibson: Parkinson's diagnosis 'not a death sentence'

It's been a difficult year for Kirk Gibson.

But if we know anything about the former Detroit Tigers great, he will tough it out.

Gibson, best known for two of the biggest World Series home runs in the history of baseball, was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease earlier this year and announced it shortly into the 2015 Tigers season working as a Fox Sports Detroit analyst.

Though he spent some time away from the broadcast booth following the announcement, Gibson returned to call several games for FSD.

The process of fighting Parkinson's, a progressive disorder of the nervous system, hasn't been easy, Gibson confirmed to Bleacher Report writer Scott Miller in an epic story on Gibson's new fight.
