On Thursday afternoon, second baseman Kean Wong was designated for assignment by the San Fransisco Giants. Wong was acquired by the Giants when they claimed him off waivers from the Angels, who, in turn, had claimed him from the Tampa Bay Rays. The Giants removed him from their 40-man roster, along with outfielder Jose Siri, in favor of first baseman Darin Ruf and relief pitcher Rico Garcia.
Now that he’s available again, the infielder could be of particular interest to the Detroit Tigers.
