Tigers general manager Al Avila said Bosio was dismissed for making insensitive comments to a team employee. The Athletic reported Friday that Bosio called an African-American clubhouse attendant a "monkey" in the coaches' locker room after a game.
Bosio maintained in an interview with USA Today that the clubhouse attendant overheard a conversation in which he referred to Tigers reliever Daniel Stumpf as "spider monkey.
