The Detroit Tigers could not get things going at home against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday in the opener of a short two-game weekend set as Michael Pineda got shelled again and the offense simply could not keep up with the surging Twinkies, taking an 8-4 loss. The bludgeoning came just after the worst outing of his career the last time he took the mound and his team did not respond at the plate until the later innings, putting up a futile three-spot in the ninth to at least finish the game on a high note.
