Fuming Tigers want explanation on replay: 'We thought we won the game'

DETROIT -- Jose Iglesias jumped on his back. Niko Goodrum doused him with Gatorade.

Mobbed by teammates in the infield, JaCoby Jones was savoring his game-winning hit in the 10th inning, a thrilling finish to a wild Opening Day.

The Detroit Tigers had beaten the Pittsburgh Pirates, 11-10. Or so it seemed when Nicholas Castellanos slid past the tag of Pirates catcher Francisco Cervelli and home plate umpire Tony Randazzo pumped his arms outward to signal him safe.

"We were celebrating," Jones said. "We thought we won the game."

The subsequent pause for replay was just a "courtesy review," Castellanos thought to himself.
