DETROIT -- Michael Fulmer's early-season struggles aren't over as the schedule turns toward summer at Comerica Park. The Angels' imposing lineup of power hitters nullified any momentum Fulmer carried from his victory last week, thumping the All-Star right-hander for five runs and two homers over 3 1/3 innings in a 9-2 Tigers loss Tuesday night.
Fulmer (2-4) raised hopes that he had turned a corner when he held down the Twins for a lone run over 5 2/3 innings last Wednesday in his first win since April 7. His three walks in that game, however, suggested he still had work to do on his command.
