Fulmer named BBWAA's AL Rookie of Year

Fulmer nearly became the first rookie to win an ERA title since Mark Fidrych 40 years ago. The 23-year-old posted an 11-7 record and a 3.06 ERA in 26 starts, allowing 136 hits over 159 innings with 42 walks and 132 strikeouts.

Fulmer, acquired from the Mets in the 2015 Yoenis Cespedes trade, delivered a 33-inning scoreless streak from late May into June, and gave up one run or none in eight consecutive starts. Detroit won seven of those outings, three of them when scoring four runs or fewer. The Tigers won six one-run games with Fulmer on the mound.
