DETROIT -- Blaine Hardy will start for the Detroit Tigers Saturday in place of Francisco Liriano, who went to the hospital with an allergic reaction on Friday.
Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire said Liriano was fine and still might pitch out of the bullpen Saturday depending on how he feels when he comes to the park.
Hardy started on Sunday against the Red Sox but had been moved temporarily to the bullpen because the Tigers have two upcoming off-days.
Gardenhire anticipated that Hardy should be able to go about 65 pitches. He threw 55 on Sunday.
