Ron LeFlore's incredible story hits a significant milestone, and the former Detroit Tigers All-Star will be there to see it.
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of "One in a Million: The Ron LeFlore Story," the movie will be screened Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Detroit Historical Museum, with LeFlore as special guest. Admission is free. LeVar Burton stars as LeFlore.
LeFlore discovered baseball in prison, and three years later, was in the big leagues with the Tigers in 1974 as a 26-year-old. A fan favorite, LeFlore developed into an All-Star center fielder for the Tigers in 1976, starting the season with a 30-game hitting streak.
